What Is Selective Pallet Racking?

What Is Integrated Rack?
An integrated rack is a type of Tegometall designed system used in European supermarkets such as Metro.
It combines a standard Tegometall shop shelving with a light-duty racking system to let you store and showcase your products on the racking.

How Wide Is Pallet Racking?

- Determining the Bay Width
A standard pallet is 1000mm wide. In most cases, a forklift requires a width of 125mm between the frame and the rack.
It requires a 150mm width between the rack for a double-wide bay. The ideal beam length or bay width would then be (2x1000mm +125mm + 150mm + 125mm) = 2400mm.
- Determining Upright Rack Depth
The standard setting requires the upright depth to be 6-inch or about 152mm less than the pallet depth.
A standard pallet rack is 1200mm deep. The pallet should overhang the beams by about 75mm, both at the system’s front and back.
The ideal depth should be 1200mm – (75mm + 75mm) = 1050mm deep upright.
- Determining Upright Rack Height
You need a 100mm minimum lift for your forklift to collect and unload the steel pallet in a rack system.
That means you should add 100mm to the height of the material you want to lift and add it to the pallet height to get the perfect size for every beam level.
For instance, if you want to lift a 1000mm tall load, you add the 100mm for lift-off to get a clear height of 1100mm.
You add this figure to the load beam’s height; let’s assume a 100mm high x 2400mm long beam. We add 100mm and 1100mm to get 1200mm.
